Last Weekend we took a hike to Cedar Creek Falls. The weather was beautiful. It was a little over two miles down to the falls. We actually took the wrong trail and ended up on top of the falls instead of below them. We decided to stay where we were and take the beauty around us with a picinic and dunking our toes in little pools of water. Kegan loves to hike. We are still amazed at his love for adventure and the great outdoors. He always seems peaceful and content when we are hiking and exploring!

The Birch Aquarium
Adrian's cousin and family came into town last weekend and we were able to meet up with them at the Birch Aquarium. we had a lot of fun visiting and catching up about kids. Bruce and Kristina have two children Kip and Rhett. They are so adorable. Kip loves the fish tanks. He was running all over the place asking "what is that?" "what does that do?". It was so cute. We look forward to being able to spend more time with them in the future!

Hiking/Camping in the Baja
Every year for the past four years, Adrian and I have been going down to the Baja to vacation with his mom, dad, brother, and sister in-law. The parentals own a little brick house on the beach just outside of Puerto Citos. We love going down there. We usually sleep on the patio so we can wake up with the sun and on occassion some dolphins. Our time is spent walking down the beach looking for shells, over turning rocks looking for sea life, eating way too much food with a sip or two of beer, exploring the desert, playing games, and just plain relaxing. This year was no different. We arrived in the Baja around Jan. 1. We hung out with grandpa Armold until grandma, and Uncle Miah and Aunt Sarah joined us a few days later. We then packed up to set out on a hiking trip. The trip was going to consist of hikers, a support crew and 92 miles of pure adventure. I was part of the support crew and drove an ATV. When Kegan was not hiking with daddy, grandpa, Uncle Miah and Aunt Sarah, he was riding with me. He loved it! He did great camping too. We had a six person tent with us so we could bring along his pack n' play and spread out with all of our stuff. we enjoyed hanging around the campfire and eating carne asada fajitas. That first night was really chilly and Kegan seemed to wake up every twenty minutes until we put him on the ground with us. The next morning we chowed down on some of grandpa's famous green chili. Then we started back on the trail. We were hiking/ATVing through a canyon to an Oasis. Once there we were going to leave the hikers, head back to the house and drive the next day across the penisula to San Quintin to meet them. We got about 27 miles into the trip and found the part of the road to the Oasis was washed out. We all ended up coming home. It was a bummer! But we made up for it by doing a day hike into some other canyons where fossilized shells could be found. We also had great times with some of grandma and grandpa's friends. Virg and Larry and Loren and Judy (they came on the great trip too) fixed these amazing feasts. We left waiting for the new year to be over with so we could come down again. Check out our album!
Kegan's First Christmas
This year for Christmas Nana and Papa John came into town. Kegan loved looking at all the Christmas decorations and tree. He seemed to be intrigued by the lights on the tree. Opening presents was fun too. Later that afternoon we had dinner with the Swick Family! Grandma and Grandpa Armold came to visit the week after christmas. It was great visiting with them!
Thanksgiving 2008
So I know it has been awhile since we last posted. Here are some quick updates-at Kegan's 4 month check up he weighed 16 lbs and was 26.5 inches long. At this point in time he can switch toys back and forth between his hands, sit up using the tri-pod, and can roll onto his side. He still fights tummy time so rolling all the way over has been a no go! We started him on solids- he loves squash and prunes. He also got his first tooth in at four and half months with the second one following close behind. It seems like everyday he is becoming more expressive and opinionated! For Thanksgiving this year we traveled to Gardnerville and spent time with Nana and Papa John. Kegan was able to meet alot of his great aunt and uncles as well as second and third cousins. We had a great time.
